Core Mission & Concept: "Josuman" (meaning blossoming flower) is a pioneering co-scholastic initiative designed to introduce basic French language skills—reading, writing, and speaking—to primary school students (Grades 4 and 5) in Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) schools. It uniquely uses Hindi as the medium of instruction to bridge foreign language acquisition with local inclusion.
Pedagogical Alignment: Rooted in constructivist learning theories and aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and CBSE co-scholastic guidelines, the program leverages mother-tongue scaffolding to enhance cognitive capabilities, emotional maturity, self-confidence, and intercultural awareness.
Interactive Delivery & Evaluation: Classes are delivered once a week for 2 hours by trained French Volunteer Teachers (JFTs). Teaching relies on interactive, activity-based methods—such as songs, role-plays, games, and art—and tracks development through observation tools like After Class Teacher Observation (ACTO) and Each Student Response (ESR).
The official order issued by the Education Department, MCD serves as formal recognition of the Josuman French Enrichment Program and its contribution toward multilingual, experiential, and holistic learning in MCD schools.
From a pilot project to a multi-zone initiative, Josuman continues to expand with the support of the MCD Education Department, school coordinators, and volunteers. Each year, more schools and students become part of this journey toward inclusive and global education.

Expanded Reach (2026–27 Session): Building on its core objective of inclusive quality education, the program has scaled its reach to 50+ primary schools across 9 MCD zones, which now includes the newly added Karol Bagh zone for the 2026–27 academic year.

The day seamlessly combined academics with creativity through hands-on art projects, culminating in students proudly crafting and displaying their welcome banner:

INDEPENDENCE DAY THROUGH FRENCH
Each year, the program celebrates Indian Independence Day by incorporating French linguistic elements into traditional festivities, fostering a rich intercultural dialogue and nurturing proud, globally-minded young learners. Our students mark India’s Independence Day by blending patriotic pride with international language learning.
